648 Haiti 1787 PRESTAMP: Complete folded letter datelined 'Middletown March 26th 1787' with manuscript 'Forwarded by your Captain, Cape 29 April 1787' with fine strike of large 'CAP' marking in black (Jamet #10) and rated '2' in manuscript. Addressed to 'Capt Noah Scovell on board Brig Dolphin at Cape Francois or Port au Prince' with the 'Cape Francois' section neatly crossed out with manuscript pen strokes. The cover also has a manuscript notation 'Hand by Cpt Mings' in lower left corner. The letter is a request for Spanish hides and references Captain Ming handling the letter.
