50rs dull green postal stationery card (H&G 32) used with SANTA CRUZ (R.G DO SUL) cds dated NOV 1917. Addressed internally to PORTO ALEGRE with straight line 'LIVRE' marking in purple (denoting censorship) and PORTO ALEGRE arrival cds also in purple on front. These censors were in place due to the Food Riots and Peasant revolts in the South of Brazil during 1917-1919.
