100rs red on thin cream paper postal stationery envelope (H&G B24) used with added 1906 200rs bright ultramarine (SG 266) tied by S. FRANCO DE ASSIS (R.G DO SUL) cds's dated 26 JUL 1919 with boxed registration mark alongside. Addressed to PORTO ALEGRE and censored on arrival with straight line 'LIVRE' marking and undated circular P. ALEGRE - R.G.DO SUL (4AS - TARDE) marking both in bright violet on front and oval '67' censor number on reverse along with arrival cds in black. These censors were in place due to the Food Riots and Peasant revolts in the South of Brazil during 1917-1919.
