Circa 1920 3c grey violet on ivory postal stationery envelope (H&G B7A) used correctly as a 'Cubierta' with added strip of three 1918 3c lake reverse (SG 378 all with security punches) and tied by fine strike of three line REPUBLICA DE COLOMBIA CORREOS NACIONALES OFICINA DE VALORES DECLARADOS MANIZALES cancel in blue with additional strike on front. Addressed to SAN FRANCISCO, insured for 4 pesos and signed on arrival on reverse. Very rare correct use of this envelope. Less than ten examples have been recorded as the Cubierta system was discontinued soon after.
