5c grey black on blue postal stationery lettercard (H&G A5) used with added 1923 2c carmine with Semi Official 'Airplane' overprint in black and 1920 1c blue & carmine TAX issue (Sanabria #S7 & SG 375) tied by QUITO cds dated 17 JUL 1923. Flown on the 15 July Quito - Ibarra first flight by the Italian aviator 'Antonio Faulin' on the airplane 'La Siria' (the QUITO cds was dated 17 JUL to commemorate the anniversary of the battle of independence in Ibarra in 1823). Addressed to IBARRA with typed message inside the card detailing the special flight. Very scarce. (Muller #8)
