Sepia toned set of six PPCs all showing the stages of the execution of José Ramón Miguel Agustín Pro Juárez who was a Mexican Jesuit priest executed in 1927 by President Calles on the false charges of bombing and the attempted assassination of former Mexican President Álvaro Obregón. The cards show him before the execution, praying, and various feature the execution and moments after plus one of his body. All are fine unused. There is also a small contemporary slip with an image of him prior to the execution with printed details on reverse. A fantastic and somewhat gruesome group.
