Unsealed censored cover franked with pair 1937 ½d green GVI issue with 'TANGIER' overprint (SG 245) tied by BRITISH POST OFFICE TANGIER cds dated 10 FE 1944. Addressed to a newspaper in RABAT and forwarded to the British P.O. in GIBRALTAR for censoring with printed black on white 'OPENED BY EXAMINER I.A./6245' P.C.90 censor strip at left and further censored on arrival by the French administration in Rabat with printed 'CONTROLE' strip affixed over the Gibraltar strip tied by oval censor mark. Cover also has a GIBRALTAR transit mark on reverse. A very unusual routing for censorship.
