Incoming German 5pf green on buff postal stationery card (H&G 73) used with added 1905 5pf green (SG 84) tied by COLN cds's dated 10.8.1907. Addressed incorrectly to 'Monsieur Professeur Salvador Barbereno Diaz, Granada, Salvador, America Central' with NEW ORLEANS transit cds and SAN SALVADOR arrival cds dated 8 SET 1907 on front with two line ''EXTRAVIADO SAN SALVADOR C.A.' marking alongside. The 'Salvador' in the address has subsequently been erased in red crayon and 'Nicaragua' added in blue crayon with SAN SALVADOR despatch cds on reverse dated NOV 11 1907. The card then travelled correctly to Nicaragua with oval GRANADA arrival mark on front dated NOV 26 1907. A highly attractive and unusual item.
