1d vermilion on buff QV postal stationery card of Great Britain with 'NIGER COAST PROTECTORATE' overprint in black (H&G 3) datelined 'Eket' on reverse used with good strike of QUA IBOE RIVER cds dated 8 OC 1902 (with '2' of year inverted). Addressed internally to OLD CALABAR with arrival cds on reverse. The card has some neat (possibly contemporary) manuscript notations on front & reverse but a very rare cancellation on cover.
