Badly damaged cover with stamp floated off due to water sent from Great Britain to Christchurch, New Zealand. Flown on the aircraft 'Calpurnia' which crashed on lake Ramadi in Iraq (near Habbaniyah) due to a sandstorm on the night of November 27th 1938. The cover has a good strike of the two line RECEIVED IN DAMAGED CONDITION EX FLYING BOAT CALPURNIA cachet in purple on front and has been incorrectly marked for Postage Due on arrival in New Zealand with hexagonal 'T' and 'T30' in blue crayon.
