Complete incoming folded letter datelined 'Glasgow 11 Novem 1808' with three line GLASGOW 13 NOV 1808 405-G mileage marking in black on front with 'P.Packet' and rated '2/3' in manuscript. Addressed to 'P.M. Lucas Esq. St Vincent'. The letter includes details of price rises for different types of sugar and rum with speculation putting it down to cheap cotton. The letter also mentions the convoy system with the ship the Lord Melville which had reached Cork where the convoy had just sailed after being redirected to Portsmouth where another convoy would be assembled. A nice early incoming item.
