3m violet on buff postal stationery card of Egypt with 'SOUDAN' overprint (H&G 1) used with added 1898 1m brown & pink 'Camel' issue (SG 10) tied by KHARTOUM cds's dated 9 MAR 1901. The card has a hand drawn comic illustration on reverse of animals including monkeys, a bear, lion, hippo, elephant and crocodile drinking in a bar in the desert along with a full commercial message in German. Addressed to GERMANY and redirected a number of times with BENI SOUEFF-CAIRE AMBT cds on front with various other transit marks. Light central crease but otherwise fine & rare item.
