Cover with oval 'CARRAU Y COMPANIA MONTEVIDEO' company handstamp in corner franked with 1866 10c yellow green 'Numeral' issue (SG 34a) tied by barred 'A' cancel of MONTEVIDEO with CORREO MONTEVIDEO cds alongside dated 16 OCT 1872. Addressed to SPAIN with manuscript 'Via Lisboa' at top with P.TRANSATLANTICO cds in black on reverse, and small straight line '1 PESETA' marking applied on arrival on front of cover with various other transit & arrival cds's on reverse. Very fine & scarce.
